This weeks post is about talking with God through prayer. Prayer is a big part of your relationship with God. Psalm 61:1 says "Hear me cry, O God, listen to my prayer." I personally love prayer. Its a great way for me to really connect with God. I will have a small prayer exercise below along with some great worship songs.

Prayer Exercise:
Exercise #1: Stand up and hold your arms up with your palms facing upward. Pray to God and ask him to take away all burdens and any weight that you carry.
Exercise #2: Face backwards and point towards your past. Think of a few times you really saw God working in your life. Thank God for those times.
Exercise #3: Face forwards and point to your future. Let go of any stress that you may have about your future. Trust God, He knows what he is doing. Pray to God telling Him that you trust him with your future. John 13:7 says "What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand." Think of that verse as you pray. It is a great verse to have for the future and maybe even present.
Exercise #4: Kneel down and confess your sins to God. He is not judging you. Accept his forgiveness. After you confess, spend about 45 seconds thanking God for his forgiveness.
Exercise #4: God says to love your enemies. Think of one person who has bullied you or you've just never gotten along with. Spend 45 seconds praying for them.
Exercise #5: Read this prayer to yourself and then out loud to God.
God our heavenly father,
when the thought of You
wakes in our hearts,
let its awakening
not be like a startled bird
that flies about in fear.
Instead, let it be like a child
waking from sleep
with a heavenly smile.
Exercise #6: Say this prayer aloud to God.
"Come, Holy Spirit, fill my heart and set a fire down in my soul that I cannot contain and cannot control. Lord, I crave you, I need you. I may go down the wrong path but I know you will always be there to help me find my way. Amen."
Exercise #7: Think of someone in your life that does not know God and spend about 45 seconds praying that they find God.
Exercise #8: Read this to yourself twice with your head bowed.
"Lord God, Creator of light, at the rising of your sun each morning, let the greatest of all lights - your love - rise, like the sun, within my heart.
